Progressive progress

During my lunch breaks I love to sit in my car listen the radio. I usually flip back and forth between 620AM and 860AM. I'm a person that prefers listening to both sides of an argument and when 860AM is a super Conservative station and 620Am is a Progressive station, then you know your going to hear different thoughts.

620 is an interesting station for the mere fact that it doesn't just sell its self as "Liberal" but as "Progressive". In my view this just means " Far left" Someone that just happens to be a Democrat is probably nowhere as liberal as these people are. These radio personality's are a huge part of the movement for Single payer health care, Gay marriage, stricter gun laws, higher corporate taxes, more regulations, abolishing any kind of religious presence in schools or government, and most importantly not caring about the Constitution one bit. These "progressives" see government as the answer to almost everything.

I am a little confused with what they think are progressing towards. Calling yourself "Progressive" sounds cool and accepting, but don't we all know they are only Progressing towards Socialism? What else can they progress to? I guess they can progress to Communism but we would all to make a pit stop in Socialism first. I'm not convinced all "Progressives" know what their true end game is. I think most just feel they are fighting for what's right, but while doing so they are headed away from freedom and that is the most important point to understand. For every so called "Righteous" act we are chipping away at what makes us free.

Progressives do seem to fight for a lot of personal freedoms and that's great and I agree with most of their Foreign policy which is to stay out of wars. On these two points we agree, but for some reason in all this talk of personal freedom from the Progressives, they forgot that I have the right to my property. I know a lot of people will say the government shouldn't and cant just come and take my land and give it to whoever they feel like. I would agree that everyone should disprove of such a government action. Then why can they do that with our money? Is my money not my property? If it's not then why is it stealing if a person should come and take my money? How is it theft if it isn't my property? The point is that money is property and when the Federal Government can take your money right out of your pay check they are only admitting to two possible things.

1. They are thieves and there is nothing you can do about it.

2. That money is not your property. It is theirs and they will give you the percentage they feel you deserve.

This is one of the reasons the Progressives confuse me. Why fight so hard for personal freedom and yet the support the direct theft of the American working man's hard earned money?

Here is a quote from John Adams

"The moment the idea is admitted into society that property is not as sacred as the laws of God and that there is not a force of law and public justice to protect it anarchy and tyranny commence. If “Thou shalt not covet,” and “Thou shalt not steal,” were not commandments of heaven, they must be made inviolable precepts in every society before it can be civilized or made free." (John Adams)

I don't say that Progressives are pushing us towards Socialism as a scare tactic. Socialism has become a terrible word in our country and so everyone is going to deny being one, even if they agree with it in principal. Progressives are all about moving forward and that sounds good because we are always told to be progressing as people, but government principles are something else. It's fine to take new problems that come our way with an open mind and to be ready to solve unseen problems, but whats' wrong with sticking to the idea of Freedom? Maybe Freedom is the greatest of gifts we can have and progressing ourselves out of freedom and into servitude just seems stupid.
